We are looking for a Manufacturing Manager to direct, manage and coordinate activities concerned with production. This role is involved with testing and implementing manufacturing methods, processing improvements, and serving in a critical capacity for the transfer of new technologies or improvements to existing products or technologies in conjunction with MTS. Manager, Manufacturing


As the Manufacturing Manager, your responsibility will be to execute all jobs in compliance with GMP and/or ISO 13485 with the goal of maintaining the integrity of the Quality Management System. In addition, you will be responsible for interdepartmental communication and adherence to production deadlines.

Responsibilities of the Manager, Manufacturing include:

  • Directing staff of chemists in the production of all products

  • Planning, delegating and directing work

  • Directing the manufacturing team to achieve the supply plan and site/divisional objectives

  • Acting as the lead manufacturing representative in the design transfer process (Product Development Process)

  • Conferring with other management to establish production and quality control standards and aids in the development of budgets and cost controls

  • Working with supply chain to ensure quantities, specifications, and product demand is met

  • Driving the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement initiatives through the organization

  • Supporting and participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives

  • Planning and directing production activities and establishing priorities for products while maintaining effective operating standards and costs

  • Coordinating production activities with purchasing and qualifying control to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment

  • Ensuring equipment used for production is properly maintained and calibrated

  • Reviewing and maintaining accuracy of BOMs & routes for materials that route through dept.

  • Reviewing and analyzing departmental/batch records to ensure legibility, completeness and storage according to company-defined protocols

  • Reviewing and analyzing batch records and processing controls for variation/trends

  • Writing and implementing manufacturing procedures and operating methods designed to eliminate operating problems, ensure safety and improve product quality

  • Evaluating, training and developing biologists and chemists to ensure compliance with all safety guidelines, manufacturing processes and internal standards for quality

  • Maintaining production schedules and sets priorities

  • Keeping management informed about threats to maintaining the schedule or meeting company standards

  • Understanding FDA regulations and ISO standards applicable to department operations and consequences of nonconformance

  • Initiating and managing Change Requests and CAPAs within the quality management system to optimize production processes

  • Creating a work environment and expectations that build employee responsibility and capability by modeling appropriate behaviors, providing coaching and training, and ensuring that all are held accountable to expected results and behaviors

  • Creating and executing personal development plans and objectives for self and team members

  • Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws

Manager, Manufacturing


You should also be highly organized and detail-oriented with solid analytical and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced environment. It is also important that you display excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree

  • 5-10+ Years of related industry experience

  • Advanced safety and cGMP knowledge
