We are looking to hire an experienced Quality Control Technologist II to work in our Warren office.Performs the tasks and functions associated with testing of red cells genotyping and platelet genotyping using molecular technologies such as NGS and BeadChips (ex. MIA FORA NGS, Precise Type HEA, etc.). This includes operation of equipment, documentation, product control, product handling, storage, serological and instrument testing, chemistries and any other task associated with manufactured products. Performs all assigned tasks following applicable laboratory SOPs, OSHA and any other applicable regulations. Overtime may be required which may include holidays and weekends.. Apply today!

Quality Control Technologist II – Medical Technologist
Responsibilities
As a Quality Control Technologist II, you will perform all assigned tasks following applicable laboratory SOPs, OSHA regulations and cGMP regulations (i.e. blood-borne pathogens and chemical hazards). You will report out-of-specification results and deviations to the department supervisor and/or manager as well as assist with investigations, root cause analyses, and reports for out-of-specification results and deviations. You will also be responsible for maintaining and compiling Device History Records.
Perform Next Generation Sequencing library preparation and sequencer loading.
Perform NGS data analysis
Performs threshold analysis process.
Perform nucleic acid extractions and assays (RNA/DNA integrity analysis, real time qPCR, digital PCR) and analyze results.
Performs molecular beadchip assays.
Use BASIS application for data analysis.
Performs laboratory testing, incoming raw material, in-process, final testing and inspection of products according to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) within defined timeframes.
Performs stability and other special testing inclusive of method validation
Reports out-of-specification results and deviations to the department supervisor and/or manager.
Assists with investigations, root cause analyses, and reports for out-of-specification results and deviations.
Maintains work area, equipment, department, and all storage areas in a clean, neat, orderly and safe manner.
Work with supervisor to plan and execute new assignments according to required timelines and ensure documentation meets GLP/GMP requirements.
Maintain, calibrate and operate equipment according to established protocols. Monitor equipment for appropriate operation within set parameters and refer abnormal results to lab management.
Maintains appropriate inventory of reagents and orders reagents as needed through an ERP system (SAP).
Writes/Revises SOPs, WI, QCS documents.
Maintains accurate, legible, and complete records according to Current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP’s).
Reviews / approves quality control records for completeness, accuracy, and acceptability of results.
Assists department supervisor and manager in maintaining and compiling Device History Records.
Review and trend Enviromental Monitoring results.
Additional Quality Control Technologist responsibilities include:
Conducts themselves in a polite, helpful, and professional manner with all employees both inside and outside of the department.
Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned. Assists with protocol and study development and reporting.
Performs clerical checks and reviews test results of coworkers for conformance to specifications including verification of volumes, selection of correct products , etc.
Assists with training of new employees
Assists with test and equipment troubleshooting
Interacts cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors or managers of other departments and receives direction well from superiors.

Qualifications
Qualified candidates for Quality Control Technologist II have at least a year of related experience and at least one years’ experience in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine. We are looking for a professional, self-motivated individual with exceptional communication and strong analytical skills.

Ability to manage and complete assignments on time and in appropriate order.
Capability of working with multiple departments to achieve department and site objectives.

Additional Quality Control Technologist requirements include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology, Life Sciences or other sciences or technical field
MLT (ASCP), required ; MT(ASCP) preferred certification designation or equivalent
3 to 5 years’ experience in a clinical laboratory, preferred
3 years’ experience in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine, preferred
1 to 2 years’ experience training and/or mentoring
Strong mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
