The position's primary responsibilities will include gathering software requirements from internal and external customers and subject matter experts and defining software requirements. We are looking for someone with lab experience who has the ability to troubleshoot and solve technical issues with a strong understanding of Servers, Networking, Interfaces and LIS systems.

Software Systems Technical Support Specialist - Technical Support

Responsibilities

As the Software Systems Technical Support Specialist, you will serve as liaison between marketing, customers and the software development team, and support the installation and use of the current software.

Responsibilities of the Software Systems Technical Support Specialist include:

  • Member of the software support team handling all software desktop support

  • Primary responsibility with MIA FORA software and hardware (servers)

  • Work closely with QA to manage the incoming software inputs and complaints

  • Work closely with customers to elicit software requirements/needs

  • Assist with the prioritization of initial feature development and ongoing change requests

  • Participate in the functional testing of new software versions

  • Provide software troubleshooting both internally and externally

Qualifications

The Software Systems Technical Support Specialist will have a good understanding of MATCH IT! Suite of software, Software Development Lifecycle process, LifeCodes Suite of software and an expert understanding of MIA FORA product line.

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree (preferred) in Life Sciences with 1 or more years experience with LIFECODES product troubleshooting or B.S. with 3+ years of experience

  • Lab-based experience required plus additional networking experience (software and/or hardware)

  • Must be willing to travel to customer's sites and interact with lab personnel at all levels

  • Up to 50% travel, both domestic and international

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to present data to medium and large groups both internally and externally

  • Understanding of LINUX and Windows OS
