Production Supervisor – Manufacturing Operations (Healthcare)

Responsibilities

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out numerous production-related tasks associated with the supervision of vialing, labeling and packaging. In this role, you need to follow operations procedures, specifications and detailed work instructions including starting up/stopping operations, clearing operations areas, calculating component usage, verifying count of product in and out of operations, and inspecting products visually for defects.

Additional responsibilities for this manufacturing supervisor position include:

  • Scheduling and reviewing work performed by technicians

  • Operating and maintaining department equipment as well as identifying and troubleshooting any performance issues

  • Handling inventory and packaging supplies according to department specifications

  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA, FDA and ISO standards and regulations

  • Taking part in the internal audit process

  • Accurately calculating inventory and department statistics

  • Performing and documenting periodic calibration verification or recalibration of department equipment according to department protocols

  • Conducting employee training, motivation and development as well as carrying out performance appraisals in a timely manner

Qualifications

As a Production Supervisor, you must have a demonstrated ability to adhere closely to department procedures at all times. Also, you must possess people skills that will allow you to maintain department morale and interact cooperatively with workers from other departments. Within this fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will need to adapt quickly and use keen problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Other requirements of the manufacturing supervisor role include:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university

  • +5 years Supervisory experience in a Medical Device/Pharmaceutical Manufacturing facility

OR Equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Availability to work overtime as necessary to meet production deadlines

  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other departments

  • Experience in scheduling, budgeting, employee performance evaluation, purchasing, troubleshooting, and workflow analysis
