Network Engineer - (IT Network Administrator)

Responsibilities

Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of an global organization to ensure maximum uptime for users. This role includes designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary. Including analysis of logs; system troubleshooting; system backups; and on-call support.

Additional responsibilities as a Network Engineer include:

  • Design, support, and maintain network devices in a highly complex environment.

  • Manage network infrastructure including configuring routers, switches, and firewall policies.

  • Install and support Cisco network equipment and network systems

  • Install and support global WAN & SD-WAN systems

  • Manage and support end user remote and business to business VPNs

  • Manage and support a Meraki remote teleworker network infrastructure

  • Troubleshoot and repair network software and hardware issues

  • Monitor systems for errors and performance problems

  • Monitor and assign Helpdesk support calls

  • Assist with administration of all servers production and test

  • Provide 3rd level support for I.S related issues

  • Monitor network, servers and applications for errors and performance problems

  • Build and run network cables

  • Evaluate, Test, and Design network resources such as internet, applications, etc

  • Perform performance analysis on production and test environments

  • Assists in implementing and maintaining corporate security standards, technologies, and processes/procedures

  • Assists in maintaining and supporting VoIP network and technologies

  • Member of the Immucor disaster recovery team

  • Coordinate and interact with all IS related audits

Network Engineer - (IT Network Administrator)

Qualifications

Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the local and wide area networks of an global organization to ensure maximum uptime for users. This role includes designing system configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary. Including analysis of logs; system troubleshooting; system backups; and on-call support.

Additional requirements include:

  • Associate’s Degree, from a four year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience configuring and supporting global Cisco network equipment (Routers, Switches (Nexus and Catalyst), Firewalls, etc..)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing mission critical operational environments including IT Disaster Recovery strategies

  • Solid understanding of traditional security controls and technologies, such as SIEM systems, IDS/ IPS, public key infrastructure (PKI), IDAM systems, antivirus and firewalls, in addition to newer offerings such as endpoint detection and response (EDR)

  • Ability to work effectively alone and as a member of a team to complete assignments

  • Ability to travel to colocation data center and remote offices
