We are seeking a Manufacturing Technician for our Serums Bulk Manufacturing team. The Manufacturing Technician will perform a variety of manufacturing tasks associated with the production of Immucor reagents including processing raw material, performing filtration, assisting with cleaning & sterilization of glassware, and assisting technologists with the dilution of final products. Manufacturing Technician / Lab Technician (Medical Manufacturing)
Responsibilities
Your main duties as a Manufacturing Technician include the preparation of chemical solutions such as weighing chemicals (both liquid and dry) and mixing components according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will also perform the preparation of diluents, dilution of product, pre-filtration and post-filtration of samples for culturing, and unit weight determination.
Responsibilities include:
Performing routine maintenance, including assigned room/area cleaning and disinfecting, DI water system maintenance, and disposal of contaminated waste
Conducting clerical checks for co-workers including verification of volumes and weights
Performing cleaning, disinfecting and storage of glassware/containers
Accurately completes paperwork with minimal corrections
Assists with troubleshooting problems that occur in the production flow
Maintain chemical inventory and create legible written records
Perform routine maintenance to include, assigned room/area cleaning disinfecting and disposal of contaminated waste
Assist in the preparation of components, bottles and tanks for Serum and Red Cell products
Assist in the training of new employees
Perform all production procedures in compliance with current SOPs
Complete tasks within defined time frames
Calculate volumes accurately and partner with verifier to ensure accuracy
Follow OSHA safety regulations for blood borne pathogens
Perform routine maintenance and accurately document performance of tasks

Qualifications
As a Manufacturing Technician, you must be able to work accurately and safely while still completing tasks within a defined time frame. Good interpersonal and communication skills are necessary as well.
Manufacturing Technician qualifications include:
BS Degree required
Biology degree, preferred
1 - 3 years of current experience in an aseptic manufacturing environment or related industry, preferred
Knowledge of FDA and ISO standards
Must be able to accommodate production requirements that may require 50+ hour workweeks, including extended day hours and weekends
Must understand FDA and ISO standards and consequences of non-conformance
Meets minimum competency evaluation
Excellent interpersonal skills and has the ability to receive direction well from management
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
