Research Associate – Sirona (Research & Development)

Responsibilities

As a Research Associate, you will be responsible for performing a variety of standard molecular biology techniques such as the extraction, isolation, and identification of biological molecules that are relevant to the generation of important clinical information using molecular methodologies such as polymerase chain reactions, real-time PCR, sequencing technologies, and standard or novel methodologies for protein detection.

Additional and responsibilities for this research role include:

  • Performing testing of clinical, research and quality control samples

  • Designing and conducting controlled laboratory experiments in accordance with defined protocols under supervision

  • Writing protocols, Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs), and technical reports

  • Organizing test results and performing data analyses under supervision of the leadership

  • Documenting data in the notebook

  • Performing software testing under various experimental conditions and evaluating the performance

  • Operating laboratory equipment such as pipetors, centrifuges, fluorescence readers, thermo cyclers, real-time PCR instruments and DNA sequencers

  • Meeting established project plans and agreed upon timelines

  • Understanding and being able to operate under design control
