Clinical Laboratory Manager (MT/ ASCP)
The Manager, ImmucorDX Laboratory oversees day-to-day laboratory operations and ensures the quality and compliance of the ImmucorDx clinical laboratory. This includes oversight of the laboratory, equipment, operations, maintenance, documentation, and other tasks associated with ensuring the laboratory's productivity.
Additional responsibilities of the Manager, Laboratory Services include:
Provides direction to the laboratory staff in the performance of daily tasks.
Ensures that department employees follow all applicable regulatory and safety requirements.
Schedules laboratory activities to meet customer expectations and production requirements; including review and approval of time cards and time off requests.
Foster a unified culture and promotes a process for collaboration, cooperation, and mutual team work; including employee performance reviews, and continuous feedback.
Assists with the preparation of department budget and keeps expenses within established limits.
Ensure that the test methodologies selected have the capability of providing the quality of results required for patient care; verification procedures used are adequate to determine the accuracy, precision andother pertinent performance characteristics of the method; and laboratory personnel are performing the test methods as required for accurate and reliable results.
Ensure that the laboratory is enrolled in an HHS approved proficiency testing program for the testing performed and that the proficiency testing samples are tested as required by CLIA; the results are returned within the timeframes established by the proficiency testing program; all proficiency testing reports are reviewed by the appropriate staff to evaluate the laboratory’s performance and to identify any problems that require corrective action; and an approved corrective action plan is followed when any proficiency testing results are found to be unacceptable or unsatisfactory.
Ensure that policies and procedures are established for monitoring individuals who conduct pre-analytical and post-analytical phases of testing to assure that they are competent and maintain their competency to process specimens, perform test procedures and report test results promptly and proficiently, and whenever necessary, identify needs for remedial training or continuing education to improve skills.
Ensure that an approved procedure manual is available to all personnel responsible for any aspect of the testing process
Clinical Laboratory Manager (MT/ ASCP)
As the ImmucorDX Laboratory Manager, you should have the ability to manage a team of 5-10 employees. Have at least 2 years of supervisory experience and understand FDA and ISO standards applicable to the department.
Specific requirements for this management role will include:
Master's degree in biology, chemistry, or related natural science and 2 years of training and experience in clinical molecular testing;
OR Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related natural science and4 years of training and experience in clinical molecular testing.
MT or CLS from ASCP (or other appropriate accrediting body, including AMT or AAB- considered on a case by case basis)
HLA/Histocompatibility experience, preferred
5 years + of molecular testing experience in a clinical (CLIA) laboratory, not including SARS-CoV-2 testing
